RECOMMENDED LIGHTING BULB CHOICES

Quartz halogen bulbs are now available in sizes from 60 watt to 150 watts. An advantage is their long life of 3,000 hours versus 750 hours for regular incandescent lamps. Compact fluorescent lamps are generally available in sizes up to 28 watts, which are rated at 1,750 lumens output. Compact fluorescents are generally rated to last up to 10,000 hours.  Larger compacts fluorescents, up to 42 watts and 3,000 lumens output are available, but the 42 watt size requires a direct wire ballast to keep the bulb from sticking down below the skycap. The socket of the fixture would then have to be removed and the direct wire ballast wired and affixed into its place.

In regular light bulbs, it is recommended that the hours of operation per night be kept to one hour or less. This way their limited life of only 750 hours will not necessitate replacement more often then every two years. If the light output of the 7,000 lumens output 175 watt mercury vapor light is desired, a 300 watt incandescent rated at 6,300 lumens output is available. Bear in mind at only 1 hour a night even a 300 watt light will still use 87% less electricity. Other options include yellow "bug lights" and even red lights if dark adaptation retention is desired while still being able to see for safety purposes.

The replacement bulb calculation from incandescent bulb to CFL was quite easy. The chart was clear:
25W = 4W
40W = 9W
60 W = 13W
75W = 17W
100W = 23/27W
The replacement bulb calculation from incandescent bulb, compact fluorescent lamp and halogen bulb to bulb is not easy. For directional lamp this is very important), The chart was about below listed. But for non-directional lamp, The watts of LED bulb must be increased about 50%.

1W LED = 3W CFL = 15W Incandescent lamp = 8W Halogen lamp
3W LED = 8W CFL = 25W Incandescent lamp = 24W Halogen lamp
4W LED = 11W CFL = 40W Incandescent lamp = 32W Halogen lamp
8W LED = 15W CFL = 75W Incandescent lamp = 64W Halogen lamp
12W LED = 20W CFL = 100W Incandescent lamp = 96W Halogen lamp

For the LED light bulbs, LEDs provide long life, pure white light, are available in colors, and are shock and vibration resistant. That means you can use bulbs with LEDs on equipment or household and potentially never having to replace them. Bulbs with LEDs as the light source will work from -40 degree Fahrenheit to +185 degree Fahrenheit. It is more energy efficient and more long lifetime (up to 100000 hours) than any other lighting, And it is better for a fixture with better control over the time switching options. It is best one for mounted in such a fixture could be switched on and off with a motion sensor, a remote switch, or a photocell timer. As a replacement for regular bulbs, The popular use is spotlight and table reading lamp. The cheapest is using multiple white LEDs, But due to the size limited of bulb, The MR16 most 48 LEDS, MR11 most 9 LEDs, GU10 most 48 LEDs,  The largest PAR30 and PAR38 bulb just 120 LEDs (about 260 lumens, 10 watts output, Instead of 100 Watts incandescent bulb). For more big watts output, Should be use high power LED, But the price will be higher than multiple white LEDs. Currently, We can make largest watts output is 60 watts. It can instead of 500 watts incandescent bulb. For decoration lighting and lighting for entertainment, The LED light bulb is best lighting.

The beam angle is very important when you choose LED light bulbs, The angle can be 15 degree, 30 degree, 45 degree, 60 degree. The lumens will be less for wide beam angle LED light bulbs. When you calculate the lumens of led lights replacement, You must consider the bulb is directional light bulb or non-directional light bulb (this is very important). For example, The compact fluorescent light tube is 360 degree beam light output, And the LED ligth tube is 120 degree beam light output. The lumens of 36 watt CFL is about 3200 lumens, If you use led light tube as repalcement, computational formula is (3200/360)*120 (this is consider the beam angle of directional light)+(3200/2)*50% (this is consider the lumens of reflect light) =1866 lumens of led light tube is enough.
How to calculate the lumens? If it output 15~20 degree beam and cool white, For multiple white LEDs,  It is about 2~2.5 lumens each piece LED (note that the lumens will be less for wide beam angle LED light bulbs. For high power LED, It is about 40~60 lumens each watt. Please note that the lumens for warm white will be less than cool white. For example, It is about 1.5 lumens each piece LED.

White LED Color Temperature Options (in Kelvin) : Warm white  3000K, Pure white 5500K, Cool white 8000K. Viewing angle options: Narrow angle 15~20 degree, Medium  angle 40~60 degree, Wide angle 90~100 degree.

High power LED bulbs compare with multiple white LED bulbs, The cost of high power LED will higher than multiple white LED, The efficiency of multiple white LED bulb will better than high power LED bulb. If you just like the light output and price, Please choose our multiple white led bulbs. But please note that the Life and Lumen Maintenance of high power led bulbs are better than multiple white led bulbs.
